PEAK Missoula Triathlon — May 21, 2011

Trail 103.3 Racer Interview Audio Clip

Last year, FIT TO FIGHT had six cancer patients/survivors represent them in PEAK Missoula Triathlon 2010. Jeff Runyan, FIT TO FIGHT alum, is in recent remission from Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Mary Pat Malerk is in remission from breast cancer. Scott Woods, FIT TO FIGHT alum, has current diagnosis lung cancer and is still in active treatment. Jami Mazes tested positive for BRCA-1 genetic mutation and chose prophylactic surgery. Mary Lynn Eiseman is in recovery from colon cancer. They are 110% amazing. With the help of FIT TO FIGHT program, they have been able to reap the benefits of exercise during and after their cancer treatments.

This year is going to be even better! This year’s FIT TO FIGHT Alumni Triathletes challenge you not only to train your hardest and race your fastest, but to race to help them build the FIT TO FIGHT program. FIT TO FIGHT empowers cancer patients and survivors to improve their quality of life during and after cancer treatment through an eight week, physical therapist supervised, cost-free program of fitness, health and education at PEAK Health & Wellness Center. fittofightmt.org
